About Tony Bennett & China...

Listening to: my coworker typing away at her computer...
Thinking about: TGIF! OMG my final exam for my media relations course is due...must work harder!

Went to see Tony Bennett last night. Can you believe he's turning 80 years old?? He's singing and stage presence is amazing! What I was amazed at was his respect for the audience. He'll thank the audience repeatedly as well as his own band members. I love how he ties in his songs with stories of his life. Worth every penny for the 2nd row seat tickets. My favorite was when he told the AV to shut off his mike and he sang "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" and "Fly Me To the Moon". I can understand why he's such a legend, singing with Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney, etc. As he stated it best last night, he was one of the first American Idols.

Heading to China on vacation in August for two weeks with mom and sister. It's going to be hella hot, but I'm hoping it'll be a wonderful experience since this will be my first trip to Asia. It's exciting but mortifying. Maybe the heat will help me lose weight...Had to go get shots at the travel clinic, which warned me on Dengue Fever, Avian Flu, and all those other diseases I could get in Asia... *fun*. Went and shopped for luggage and visa photos. Still gotta go get my Chinese visa done up and book hotel for Hong Kong. Will be taking a tour from Vancouver to Beijing, Beijing for 3 days, then Wuxi, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, back to Shanghai and the tour ends, where we will fly to Guangzhou and go to Hong Kong as well. Guess what I'll be doing? Shopping!!
