Of Summer and Vacation...

Thinking about: if I should do something tonight more productive than just sitting in front of the TV eating munchies...

It's May, which means busy season for me at work. I've got a 3 days conference next week which requires me to be in Victoria from May 9 to 14. It's the same weekend as Mother's Day, so I'm hoping to take my parents and sister out to brunch at Hotel Grand Pacific, which is a really nice new hotel along the Inner Harbour. I'll be back in Vancouver to work a week and then I'm off to Montreal May 22 to 25 for a conference on Education for work. It should be interesting, especially the shopping afterwards ;)

Since I haven't officially used up any vacation dates yet, my boss has been asking me what I will be doing for vacation this summer. It really is not something I'm super looking forward to since the summer is always high/peak season for travelling, which means costing more for travelling. Plus the gas keeps getting higher (this weekend is at $1.20/litre) and it's supposed to be higher by the summer. I may just go to Tofino for a few days and maybe down to Portland for a few days. I'd like to spend some time with my family as well.

Next long vacation will be: Disneyworld, Epcot Centre, getting my Mickey Mouse ears, NASA, Miami...ahhhh I can feel the sand and the beach already...Florida! If only I can dream that I was there now...
